Green leaf The Green Leaf City-Greening Program of the LÉLEGZET (Breath) Foundation and the Levegõ Munkacsoport (Clean Air Action Group) started in July 2007 and will finish in November 2008. The amount of green areas is a crucial factor for the well being in densely populated areas. The field of actions are the 5th 6th and 7th district + the inner part of the 13th district. In this part of Budapest there is less than one square meter per capita public green area. The main goal of the program is to increase and well maintain the green plants of the area. An additional objective of the program is to strengthen public participation and spontaneous actions of the civil society. Grants were available for non-profit organisations - condominiums churches public institutions - to maintain and create green courts spots facades roofs rows of trees etc. The most important condition for obtaining support is to guarantee at least 3 year maintenance of the plants. The program counts upon the co-operation of the business the local municipalities and the residents. The campaign is supported by the generous grant of the Sandor Demjan Charity Foundation (Demján Sándor Jótékonysági Alapítvány). Related materials: |
