Children hate pollution

The Clean Air Action Group has launched a drawing competition for primary school children to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and the seriousness of the changes in nature caused by humanity. Children were asked to draw what they think could be done to create cleaner air. The programme is part of CNN’s #CalltoEarth Day campaign on 10 November 2021.
This is the first time CNN has announced #CalltoEarth Day, which focuses on sustainability and the environment. The news channel is sharing content on https://edition.cnn.com/interactive/call-to-earth/#/ and on its social media platforms to celebrate the work of people and organisations working for a sustainable future.
At the request of CNN, Clean Air Action Group joined the initiative and launched a drawing competition. Children were invited to submit creative artwork showing what they think could be done to improve air quality. The call attracted almost 700 drawings, and the NGO will publish the best drawings on its Facebook page in the coming days. These drawings will be voted on and the final ranking will be based on the number of votes and the decision of the jury.
The winners will be announced on 6 December, and 3 children from both lower and upper school will win family tickets to their favourite zoo.
“We were delighted to receive the entries. Despite the fact that the autumn break meant there wasn't much time to draw, we received a lot of really creative and imaginative entries. We joined the CNN initiative with great enthusiasm, as our activities and mission are in line with the values of the event. The drawing competition has confirmed us that it makes sense to fight for an environmentally friendly and sustainable future, even with the youngest” – said András Lukács, President of Clean Air Action Group.
