The Hungarian NGO Clean Air Action Group has joined CNN’s Call to Earth initiative

Joining CNN’s “Call to Earth” initiative, the Hungarian environmental association Clean Air Action Group (CAAG) is also actively drawing attention to the seriousness of the changes caused by humanity on our planet. Humanity has already pushed one million animal species to the brink of extinction, has been devastating our oceans, and has caused a climate crisis, and it is also gravely endangering its own survival. Due to air pollution, 13,000 people die prematurely every year in Hungary alone.

As part of the Call to Earth, CNN is launching a series of programs addressing environmental and sustainability-related issues. On their TV channel, website, and social media channels, they celebrate the people and NGOs who are fighting for humanity to exist on a healthier planet, in greater harmony with nature.

The Clean Air Action Group is preparing for the 10th of November, declared the “Call to Earth” Day by CNN, with three activities:

  • They will demonstrate at the Parliament to draw attention of the decision-makers to the urgency of improving air quality.
  • They will share a short film about how much of the lungs of pedestrians and cyclists in Budapest are actually exposed to ultrafine dust emitted mainly by residential burning and transport.
  • They will launch a drawing competition on their Facebook page for kids. asking them to draw what they do to make the air cleaner and protect the environment.

We are pleased to join the initiative of CNN, as our mission and goals are in line with the values of the event and we believe that we should urgently change our ways of production and consumption,” said András Lukács, CAAG’s President.

Not only can NGOs join the initiative. With the #CalltoEarth hashtag, anyone can show the world what he or she is doing for the environment. The best posts will also be posted on CNN’s different channels.
